About Planet Pre-Paid Internet

Planet Pre-Paid is an Australian Owned, family operated business that is a subsidiary of network provider SIS Group Pty Ltd.

SIS Group’s heritage dates back to the early days of Dial-Up Internet in Australia. SIS was started in 1998 after Managing Director Luke Connolly struck a deal to re-sell Dial-Up access from a company called ThePlaNet which was founded by Walter and Leo Brun in 1993. After a short while, ThePlaNet was offered for sale and due to the close relationship between SIS and ThePlaNet it was only natural that SIS take on ThePlaNet’s customers and continue to provide quality, fair priced, unlimited access Dial-Up accounts.

As the market changed and customers preferred to use Pre-Paid style products, Planet Pre-Paid was born in March 2003. After rapid growth, Planet Pre-Paid reached around 15,000 Dial-Up subscribers in a short while and has continued to provide quality Pre-Paid access australia wide.

In February 2010, Planet Pre-Paid has launched our new Pre-Paid wireless broadband based on the Optus 3G network. Our strong, loyal Pre-Paid customer base is currently shifting towards broadband as the preferred access technology, primarily to escape the fixed line costs associated with maintaining a Dial-Up connection.
